SpiceJet recreates the magic of Yoga@35000 feet
Co-partners with Isha Foundation for second consecutive year on this ‘International Day of Yoga

Gurgaon, 21 June, 2016: Having pioneered the concept of on-board yoga, SpiceJet, known for its ardent customer engagement initiatives and predominance in innovation in the Indian aviation industry is all set to recreate the enigma this ‘International Day of Yoga’.

After receiving an overwhelming response from customers and the industry as a whole the airline which introduced its brand new initiative - ‘High on Yoga@35000 feet’ last year has planned to co-partner with Isha Foundation yet again to execute the program scheduled for 21st June 2016. SpiceJet will continue to offer Yoga on board without compromising on passenger safety and within regulatory compliances.

SpiceJet, in partnership with Isha Foundation (isha.sadhguru.org) has constituted this unique program wherein SpiceJet’s crew trained by Isha Foundation instructors would perform Upa-Yoga practices specifically designed to be done on board SpiceJet’s long haul flights. Travelers would be encouraged to participate in performing travel-friendly practices themselves while seated. Upa-Yoga is a simple yet powerful system of exercise designed by Sadhguru that activates joints, muscles and energy system. In addition to these benefits, the practices will also help passengers overcome jet lag, fear of flying and breathing difficulties.

Around 40 SpiceJet crew members specially trained to perform Upa-Yoga trained by dedicated Isha instructors will undertake a ten minutes session on board, across the SpiceJet network.

Mr Kamal Hingorani Sr. VP & Head of Inflight Services and Customer Experience, SpiceJet on the occasion said, “Yoga is hailed as India’s gift to the world and having pioneered ‘High on Yoga@35000 feet’ last year, SpiceJet gifted on-board yoga to flyers in India and abroad. When it comes to innovations in aviation and ardent customer engagements, we have many firsts to our credit but this one is special as it enables us to uphold India’s cultural heritage in a unique manner.

“Backed by our honorable PM, the ‘World Yoga Day’ is a great occasion to celebrate health, well-being and harmony and our unique gesture enables health conscious customers to utilize time effectively, as we ensure all safety norms on board. We would like to thank Isha Foundation for their continued support on this occasion.” he further added.

Sadhguru's message for this International Day of Yoga: "Yoga is not just an exercise system. Yoga is the science of obliterating the boundaries of individuality to know the universality of one's existence." –Sadhguru

The program has been exclusively sketched for flights exceeding 2 hours. SpiceJet will continue to offer this initiative in association with Isha Foundation on an ongoing basis.
