Allahabad

Known to be one of the largest cities in Uttar Pradesh, Allahabad located at the confluence of three rivers - Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati also known as Triveni Sangam is regarded as a highly sacred Hindu pilgrim destination. Allahabad, also knows as Prayaga, is known for its literacy, artistic and rich heritage owing to being regarded as the birthplace of the Vedas, the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. 13 of India's Prime Ministers belonged to Allahabad at one point or another leading it to be called the “City of Prime Ministers”. The place hosts the largest gathering of pilgrims in the world during the Maha Kumbh which takes place every 12 years. Tourists throng this holy city all year round as it is an excellent host to religious events and boasts a celebrated history.

Expect a delicious array of North Indian cuisines mainly Awadhi and Mughlai in Allahabad. Some of India's popular snacks such as Chaat, Samosa and Pakora have originated from the state of Uttar Pradesh and can be found at local eateries along the roads of loknath.

Water Sports Festival
This festival occurs annually in February and has an increasing popularity. Parasailing, paddle boat, water scooter and cruise boats headline the activities at the festival alongside swimming and other on the spot competitions.
